Twistori

I stumbled upon a pretty creative site called twistori.com, which searches thru a bunch of twitter profiles for sentences that includes
I- “love”, “hate”, “think”, “belive”, “feel” and “wish”. Then it shows you a stream of differente sentences that people have written with these words
All though it’s done before, with a project called We Feel Fine Just instead of twitter, this site looks thru the biggest blog sites in the world and gives you a lot more information.
Both pretty neat!

Spotify, a musical revolution
mars 10, 2009
How is it that the music industry doesn’t yet see it, they have to change if they are going to survive; if their economic situation is as bad as they say. Or is all of this piracy talk in the media good PR for the music-, film and game industry? If not, they should see the changes they have to make and jump on the new era. The majority of music consumers dosen’t go to the CD-store any longer, they find other ways to get their media. Itunes Store, Amazon Music Store or likewise. Unfortunaly a great majority uses pirat methods like torrents or sharing sites, such as usenet and rapidshare, to get their music, films, software and so on. Not to long a go Spotify came into open beta, and as long as you got an invitation from a spotify user you would get unlimited access to a huge music libary, stored online. All for free usage, but with some comercial once in a while. All though, if you get an subscription for Spotify Premium for €9.99 pr. month, you’ll get the same access + some bonus features, and no adds. €9.99 pr month? Come on, I belive a majority of the pirates out there would love such an offer. You don’t need to download your music, since its all stored online, you’ll have all your metadata in order since spotify takes care of that and you support the artists. Wake up music industry, and get on to it!

If you don’t got spotify, download and try it out (and search the web for an invitation key if you don’t want to pay the €9.99 in the beta period)
For you who have already entered heaven, here’s some favorite music of mine:
Ralph Myerz & The Jack Herren Band – Casino
Dilated Peoples – The Platform
PS: for those of you who haven’t tryed spotify; yes the links will play the song automaticly from within the program if you click it. Awesome.
Design, discovery and humor with David Carson
mars 10, 2009
One of my biggest inspirational sources are the TED talks (technology, entertainment & design), where a bunch of people gathers every year to share their knowledge with the rest of the world. This year TED celebrates 25 years!
I newly discovered David Carson’s speech on “Design, discovery and humor”, where he shows his work and the amazing humor and joy he has put into it.
Watch it on ted.com:

The true potencial of today’s technology
mars 10, 2009
After some time now I’ve desided to start some blogging. Its about time in these days I belive, i feel like the last person on earth now. All though I already have a blog, but its related my work on Idefagskolen, where I’ve been studying 3D design since fall 2008, and will finish this summer. Since i was a younger kid I’ve always found technology interesting, but not on the usual mainstream level. Technology becomes really interesting for me when its combined with art and philosophy. I belive we have come to a point in our technological evolution (if you will) where we’ve been blinded by the fun and the mass of infomation, so that we don’t fully see the potential of our knowledge, that we can change the society to our best. Though it wouldn’t be easy to make a such change over the night, I belive in a world without money nor politics. As I see it, the problem today with such a world is the humankinds hunger for power. If we learn to let go of the egoistic power we try to win and maintain, we will be able to live in an selfproducing, healthy world, where the technology gives us the possibility to live life as we want it without being forced to work. Where machines can do our work, under our controll. Of course it’s complicated to get to a such point, but hope takes us closer than nothing at all. Some of you have might heard about The Venus Project, which is of sorts what Im talking about. If we add some conspiracy to the whole idea, you’ll see that our political- and economical system today isn’t working as good as we belive it to do. And some people might be using this to make us their “slaves”, or making us giving them all the control of our lives, since those are the people we think to trust. I hope, as the rest of you, that this isn’t true. All though I will currage you all to take a look at the movie called “Zeitgeist: Addendum” (free to watch at Google video here).
